Small Steps Everyday

Hey guys! It’s me, Sofia½ of Two Girls Under the Sun (or #2GUTS—still trying to make this a thing 🤣✌🏽).

From our previous post, I mentioned that I was going to move to a different city, start fresh, and figure out what I really want to do with my life.

I was sad that I had to leave Cebu. After all, I made a lot of friends there that turned into family, made countless and priceless memories, and many things happened that surely helped me turn my wounds into wisdom.

And now, here I am in Manila! Definitely starting fresh, yet I still don’t have a clue on what to do! (Yikes! Help ya girl out!)

There are days when I feel unmotivated. Here at home just lazing around because I’m unemployed (I swear, I will join the workforce soon). But I try to channel out all negativities and remind myself that I needed this break to celebrate my freedom.

Allow me to share these steps that help me cleanse my mind and renew the breathings of my heart…

Step 1: Wake up and Give thanks.

Give thanks to your God, be grateful for the multiple chances He gave you. Another day, another blessing.

Step 2: Remember your purpose.

It’s good to remind yourself why you’re doing what you’re doing/why you did what you did in the first place. Keep visualizing what you want in life. Everything you do is a stepping stone towards your dreams. You may not realize it, but you’re halfway there. Guaranteed.

Step 3: See all things good.

Look past everything that’s bringing you down. If you keep on lingering on the negative parts of your life, it’s all downhill from there.

Always see the good! There’s no way to go but up, my friends.

Step 4: Call your Mother

Talk about your day and ask about her’s. That’s always a feel-good movie, and a good idea too!

You can call your Dad or anyone in your family who’s close to you.

Step 5: Eat that Cake!

Nothing to do with cleansing my thoughts, but it sure does help take my mind off things! 😂 Counting calories is so yesterday and I recommend you to eat! Any comfort food will rewire negativity and put you in a better mood. #GoodFoodGoodMood

I simply follow these steps whenever I feel unmotivated because it helps me reconnect to my “best” self.

I hope that this can help you in one way or another as it did me.

But then again, I might be telling you things you already know so just please see this as a reminder to keep on taking care of yourself because it’s a priority. If you are happy, you can take care of others too!
